This humble chapel and shrine, located on Davis Road (also known as Fish Hatchery Road) in a wooded area north of Lacombe known as Forest Glen, was built in 1923 by Father Francis Balay, O.S.B and the people of Lacombe. Father Balay was inspired to build the shrine in that particular area since there was a ravine through which a small stream meandered and because it reminded him of the famous shrine in Lourdes, France. The chapel is a favorite place of prayer and devotion. Many believed that the artesian water which gushed from the well on the hill has curative powers.
